In Win invited us and Karma I.T. to participate in their 30th anniversary mod off competition in Taiwan. We would face off against 7 other top modding teams from around the world in a 24 hour modding competition (split across 3x 8 hour days). In win did such an amazing job with this competition. Everything from accommodation, transport and meals all the way to providing all the tools and equipment each team needed. I can’t believe they had a team of 20 or so staff looking after us.
There weren’t too many rules to follow for this build off. Mainly we had 3 themes to choose from. Military, Medieval and Space. We obviously went with military. Apart from that we just had to finish on time and have the In Win 30th anniversary log on the build.
With our build, we went with a very strong military theme with bullets everywhere. Our build had a lot going on and many people were confused about the external back pack thing. Some thought it was a prop, while others didn’t know what it was. It was actually an external 1080 rad box mad up of 3x 360 rads running to the main system with sleeved tube and quick disconnects. It was disguised as a medical back back which even had back straps so it could be worn. A small 5″ screen was also added in the medical back pack with aida64 running custom PC stats. Then we focused heavily on the interior to clean it up a bit. Also an ammo box was made to add on the top as well as another 5″ screen was added to the front of the case.
Once the builds were completed in the factory, they were to be showcase at Computex for voting and to be showcased.
Then on Friday afternoon came the judging. Voting was comprised of online voting, In Win voting, media partners and more.
In the end it was KuN Mods from China taking out the Design award and amazingly we took out the Innovation award
Then it was the UK team Running with Scissors and USA team BSMods each taking out the Peoples Choice Award, well done guys.
Once again I’d like to thank In Win and collaborating sponsors for putting on such a great event and looking after us. I’d also like to thank all the other modders and meeting them all for this event.
